Names and Identity
November 14th, 2006Just Up, Musings.
Just read an article on India’s Bangalore changing its name to Bengaluru. Just as Johannesburg Airport is changing its name, India has been trying to capture its native identity by renaming its major cities into something closer to their old names. I wonder when or if the Philippines will be changing its cities names. While googling on more info about name sources, I came across this site http://www.kabalarians.com/index.cfm It aims to try and ‘find out the real meaning of your name based on the Mathematical Principle as explained by the Kabalarian Philosophy.’ I gave it a go with both my nick name and my real name, both of which seem to hit the mark. Tried it with a few of my friends’ names, most of which are also true. I just do not agree with this part ‘This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses in the liver, bloodstream, and solar plexus.’ Say what? Are you telling me that because of my name, I might be predisposed to certain diseases?
Seems like this ‘philisophy’ is much like the horoscope where, if you read each entry, regardless of your sign, you would find that the ‘future’ or ‘personality reading’ all apply to you.
