It seems that the only gallery plugin format that I happen to like is not compatible with the new WP upgrade. Woes is me… it is taking a loooooong looooong time before I can even setup a gallery here. I think it’s easier over at multiply, but I’ll still give it one last try over the weekend. Now I know the feeling of developing over a remote connection and must say it is very tedious - edit, update, wait, refresh, wait, check, check, and repeat as many times as required until the project is done. This process is tiring me out indeed. I’ve been so used to having a local copy of the source files for editing and if not a local copy, at least one on the LAN so loading times are not so looooong. No wonder those off-shore developments take quite long in editing and producing fixes. Perhaps having the overhead of fixing up a similar server locally is really worth the time, money, and effort.

If I had a few more months of experince using WP and doing light edits, I might take a whack at making my own sets of themes and plugins. For now, I’ll stick to the free downloads and those in the WP codex. Who knows, I might find something worthwhile and I would not want to reinvent the wheel.
