Summer really is in full swing and there are many ads sporting people with as little fabric on them as possible. As if giant billboard ads with models in various degrees of clothing scantiness aren’t enough, we have to be bombarded by commercials with half clad celebrities. I’m a fan of functional clothing. If I’m going to the beach, I wear beach clothing, but if I’m on my way to the mall or to the Church, I make sure that I don’t mix up what I’m suppose to be wearing. No shorts for me in the mall even if I live in a tropical country.

Well, it probably happened to me once. I was in one of the provinces and we had to drop by the mall to buy supplies and I forgot that we had just come from the beach. There I was clad in shorts and a shirt with slippers in a mall. Good thing it was one of those lesser known provincial malls, so I  blend in with the local crowd. At least that also reduced the chances that I would bump into some I know.

See these celebrity clothes, their logos seem interesting enough. Some of them are locally available, but some of them aren’t. While browsing the site, I saw that they have a good list of dresses and they have them modeled too. So depending on your body size-actually most of the models are thin-it may or may not fit you. Technically speaking clothes that fit any occasion are the best. Most of us invest in a few formal clothes and several multi-purpose ones.

With a high-touch culture-that’s no typo. Yes, a high-touch culture, we like to see and feel the clothes before we actually pay for them. So even if we try clothes all afternoon, we might just buy one or two. The best shopping experience would be trying on a hundred clothes and buying all of them, but that would be splurging. Hehehe. What most of my friends and I do is go the high end stores and try to recreate the look by buying similar clothes in the mid-range stores. Just some fashion strategy perhaps.

How do you shop for your clothes?

Clothes that are comfy and at the same time, I like clean lines… not too much frills. I add accessories to “spice up” the look…
