I was chatting with a friend from Canada about the ideal house or rather maybe a very nice looking house. I was thinking of a two storey house with high ceilings, big windows, spacious bedrooms and a big bathroom. We had big bathrooms when I was a kid, now we live in a building. Space is precious, but our home’s location is very convenient for both commuting and driving. The mall is just a few minutes away, even by walking you’d get there in about 20 minutes-do not attempt this in the summer heat.

On the Ellen Degeneres show, Ellen was reviewing a nice house with a bowling alley (yes, read that again), a gigantic kitchen, a shower that fits fifteen people (and yes, they tested this too), and its own theater. I was checking the San Diego realtors site and was wondering if the had something in my price range—USD 1,000. =)

Forbes just came out with a listing or rather a photo set of USD 1,000,000 homes. That’d buy a mansion and more here in my country! The average family lives in a Php 500,000 - Php 1,200,000 home, roughly USD 25,000. Home in a village sell for about twice, in an upscale village maybe up to four times that price. With just half of a million dollars, you’d be building your own villa in a lush and very upscale village and maybe 20% of the cost would be for security purposes. DSC00197

My room has a great view. Here’s a photo just after a brief rain shower. It’s great if and when the sun isn’t shining in your face, but since my room faces the north eastern side, I get a partial dose of morning sunshine—and since its summer, the sun comes out earlier than usual. With this room’s windows facing such a direction and the sunlight factor, I sometimes wake up earlier than my alarm clock ring on certain days.

How about your house? Do you have a room with a view? What direction does you house/room face?

Wow! Nice view (rainbow!). I now too live in a building… I have to get used to living “up there.”
