Site Review-Java Forums

I haven’t dabbled into Java for my more recent projects, but I’ve found that forums are a great place to find information about your favorite software as they almost always offer two sides of the story. The advice usually comes in pros and cons and you can observe the logical flow of the posts. Newbies can learn a lot by lurking and pros can always step in to give their expert opinion. Unlike email groups, you can get out of the loop if you don’t follow a thread, but with forums, it is easier to search for relevant topics and read all the responses.
I have recently found a new Java forum and registration is now open. The forum is supported by the developers of well known Java-Tips.org website. See the new Java Forums and you might find some familiar names and faces.
This forum has discussion areas for Java SE, EE, ME, and other APIs. It also has sections for IDEs where you can talk about your favorite coding tool. Other sections include areas for Java related jobs and seminars/education and of course, the staple of every forum-the support for the forum itself. Based on the forum activity, many people are now into eclipse and new even to Java. I’ve had some light experience with Java Server Pages a few years back, so I’m looking into that section. I’ve also used eclipse to code other non-Java languages and it also seems to work out.
I invite all Java users out there to take a look at the forum, build up its user-base and perhaps find a tip or two to help with your Java coding and Java skills. For newbies, find solutions to your problems and for experts jump into the pools and help out newbies like me!
