Blizzard couldn’t have worded it any better! It has been 9 long years since the original StarCraft game, but it still packs an afternoon full of interest. I got a copy of it right when it came out and tried it on my Pentium 1 PC. The graphics were great for an RTS game that ran on my 233mhz PC with a cheapo built-in mobo vid card.

We even ran it on crappy dial-up direct connections where we put up with the lag just to do multiplayer games. When they allowed us to play Unreal Tournament on the university lab on our last day or rather night of being students, it was awesome. Now, all sorts of MMORPGs are coming out that I can’t even keep track anymore. Starcraft is one of those ultra classic games, it ranks up there with X-Com: Terror from the Deep.

I hope Blizzard won’t disappoint us gamers. Warcraft 3 had a 7-year wait and it packed a wallop. Together with its expansion, my friends and I spent many a sleepless night playing till we dropped. I am getting a copy once they hit the stands!
