I have always wanted to setup a pink and blue site and here’s one about prom makeup that has a good color scheme. I try to make sites that either use analogous or tetradic schemes. I used to work only within the web safe palette but also have recently found out that color most of my readers have either true color or high color, surely higher than the web safe palette.

My next plan is to change the color scheme of this site, but probably retaining its layout as I’ve set many elements in place that work only for a 3 column layout. The fastest way to create a new layout is to draw it in Photoshop, but it won’t be the easiest to transform into a Wordpress theme.

I’m still choosing between dark/high contrast site versus a light pastel scheme, but I definitely want a web 2.0-ish look. Most of the dark sites I’ve seen sport a dark metallic gray background and for the lighter pastels, white is the predominant background. I could also go with solid colors like plain old pure reds, blues, greens and yellows, but I don’t want a rainbow effect. The site might look like the owner was born a hippie.
