So our professor decided not to give a quiz—a relief for most of us. I did a bit of a review of the presentation files and since I try to read the news almost everyday, I do have a bit to contribute. I try to at least have something prepared for each class. I also got back a few of my exam results from the previous semester. These were the results of the finals and a paper for a project proposal. The grades were these were okay, they could still have been higher, but I attribute that to my faulty estimates for scheduling. Never ever have subjects on succeeding days!

So back to the quizzes and exams. There’s another school requirement aside from these two—homework. In my previous classes, they had treated this requirement in different ways, either all due at the end of the semester, one due every week, or one due every few weeks. I personally like the last as it allows me to plan what I need to do over the course of the semester. The weekly schedule is also good, but it creates a very hectic week and a very dry social life—imagine being home on a friday night to do homework and then waking up early for a saturday class.

Fortunately, my schedule now allows for some time between subjects (3 days) and they are also on weekdays which leaves my weekends free for socializing and a bit of research. I also gives us, students, a breather between subjects so that we can prepare for the other class. Ever try to finish requirements which are due one after the other? That makes me a coffee zombie and 4 days after the dead-oh deadline, I have withdrawal symptoms and insomniac nights.

Come to think of it, everybody like surprises if it involves receiving something, but not when it involves giving something. What do you think?
