Patient Tips

I was at the dentist almost two weeks ago and would have appreciated some tips like this Beverly Hills rhinoplasty site has. I read an article long ago that mentioned that patients rarely remember anything after a procedure. How true! After my wisdom tooth extraction, all I wanted to do was lie down and sleep. I just kept nodding at the dentist, barely remembering half of his instructions.
No wonder there are a lot of medical transcription BPOs now. I had always gone to the doctor’s office with a companion, either one or both parents, just to make sure I heard and understood the instructions correctly. It helps a lot if the instructions are written down, but with the doctor’s scrawl barely legible except to a pharmacist, patients sometimes have to do some guesswork. Some older patients have had to go back to the doctor’s office just to hear the instructions for medication again.
My grandma usually calls my mom when she is given a new set of medications so that she gets clear instructions. This site clearly gives information on what to expect, what to do, and even gives a short description of what procedures or steps will be done after the surgery.
