Last Sunday, I was amazed that there was already a ‘Prayer for the Rains’ being said after the masses. Before, they had ‘Prayer for Peace’ because of the Mindanao conflict and also the ‘Prayer for Unity,’ but to think that we actually had to pray for rain makes the reality of the water and, consequently, electricity shortage much more real. However, after being soaked for the third day running, things seems comedic, one cannot deny that prayers do work! ;)

In the past few years, I have noticed that the weather has become much more unpredictable. Imagine being able to go the beach in August when the typhoons are supposed to be arriving one after the other. There I was, griping about the lack of rain and here we are now, its pouring and the streets are flooded!

We had a lot of rain here in Omaha, but it wasn’t as out of control as some other parts of the country. It was basically just something nice to watch in the afternoon from the front porch.

    The kids definitely liked it.

It made the grass really, really green.

Weng, Perhaps we should have a ‘Prayer for Intelligence’ as our government (both parties) seem to lack that which is so necessary to lead our country. Nah, I’m not sure that all the prayers in the world could help the politicians figure things out. Maybe we could do another ‘Prayer for the Rains’ and make it a 40 day event and only those with common sense would be allowed to board the Ark. What do you think of that?

Lol, Morgan. Seems like you’ve fully understood the Filipino people.

I had been wondering why I didn’t hear the ‘Prayer for the Rains’ last Sunday, but since it has been raining almost every other day and classes even had to be suspended on some days, people might have second thoughts about praying for even more rain.

For the politicians side, if we all pray as earnestly as we have prayed for the rains, who knows, maybe hail will come down and knock some sense into those politicians.
