This is the latest ploy by social networking sites to persuade friends into signing up for a service. I accept only those that do not require me to install some software onto my PC. I have enough applications running on my PC already. No need to add that infectious spyware-ridden piece of trash.

We’ve all had our fill of spam, and so far, spam blockers have done a good job of filtering my emails. They get about 98% of the spam and then I ‘teach’ it to filter newer ones. Now, spammers are becoming more and more creative and are even harder to thwart. My gmail gets about 15-20 spams a day, my blog gets about 5-10 a day. Think of the amount of time you spend to clean out this junk. All because you clicked on a link and filled up information that ‘your friend’ supposedly asked for.

I chose my networks. I don’t join those startup networks with no apparent benefit. I have/had a friendster account which was never updated. Linkedin accounts are best for those who are working or looking for a new job. Wordpress, Multiply, Blogger, and all the other blog sites are more beneficial.

A personal site is still more appealing to those who have the skill and time to tinker. Which do you prefer?

Spams are indeed a time waster! I just highlight then delete them right away. I hate the way they fill up the inbox too!!
