I had always been a fan of Sesame Street. It’s great how children can be taught things by puppets. From Batibot to the Muppets to Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, we see how puppets can bridge the gap between age, race, and color. I watched this show last Sept 16, the Sunday matinee.
Here’s my analysis of the […]

A minimalistic set, just some benches, and lights. That’s how this musical was presented.
I was adamant to watch this performance. It had been a long day for me, we accompanied a family friend to an out of town location and got back after lunch. We had an activity in town that we had to attend […]

I’ve read it. It’s done and over with. No Quidditch matches, no mention of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Wizard Cards, and the mood is indeed dark. A few refreshing moments, but then again more gloom. The latter parts of the book felt like it can be chopped into individual sequels. You have […]

How do you ‘creatively’ explain and tell kids to turn off their mobile phones? Try telling them that their mobile phones emit sound waves and that it stops the speaker from transmitting the signal from a lapel mike to the speakers. That’s the gist of what the girl explaining sound waves.

In the news last week was OLPC and Intel bury the hatchet—for the children. It says that:

After years of squabbling, Intel and Nicholas Negroponte have agreed to put their differences behind them and join forces in bringing PCs to children around the world.
Negroponte’s One Laptop Per Child project is bringing Intel on board as a […]

A friend of mine invited me to watch it together with her three year old niece, so there we were four adults accompanying one kid.

I had intended to start off this post with a fantasy-sounding title, but since I’m in the software development side of IT, might as well make it sound a bit technical. I do get pissed when people don’t read the manuals for equipment and for software. I’m still tolerant to a degree, but some […]

Last Saturday afternoon, I spent about an hour playing with a neighbor’s 2 year-old daughter-an adorable kid. She was also speaking albeit in just phrases. She could recognize colors or so her mother thought. Where is white? (She points to red) No, no. The the other white. Okay, how about blue? (She still points to […]

Nicholas Negroponte has been championing the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Organization for several years now (Nov 2005) and has yet to produce a real $100 laptop. Its current cost is at $180 since it has to scale up production to really achieve that cost. Now, another player has come out, Intel. As a chip […]
