DAWV Foundation, Inc. was established in 1988 after a group of women decided to help in alleviating the Philippines’ poverty situation through intervention projects. DAWV’s volunteerism program is open to women who may be housewives, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, community leaders, and students.
Focused on human development processes, DAWV’s volunteer training program aims to facilitate the human and technical formation of the volunteers while engaged in volunteer work.
Designed in two phases, the program covers the importance of putting human values at work and the basic technical skills and knowledge needed by the volunteer to engage in community development. DAWV also takes part in capacity-building activities held by its affiliate organizations such as Volunteer Organizations Information Coordination and Exchange (VOICE) Network, the Philippine Association for Volunteer Efforts, and the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency.
